Close the Security Gap in Your
Automated Overhead Doors and Gates

Most automated garage doors and motorized gates use timers to control closing.  The door or gate opens when the driver of a vehicle triggers it with a remote control or access credential.  The timer then allows a fixed amount of time to pass before closing the door or gate.

That "fixed amount of time" is an invitation to trouble.

Why?  Timer-based doors and gates create two hazards.  If the fixed amount of time is too long - or the driver is fast - another vehicle or individual may be able to slip through before the door or gate closes.  That puts an unauthorized and possibly dangerous person inside your perimeter.

If the fixed amount of time is too short - or the driver is slow - you face the second hazard: a door or gate that closes while the vehicle is still in the way.  That can lead to property damage or, in the worst of cases, personal injury.

How do you steer between these two hazards?  Like a navigator with a compass, your best friend is a magnetic field.

Magna-Loop

A Magna-Loop self-closing system is a cost-effective means to close the security gap.  It consists of a magnetic loop detector and wire coil loop that is buried beneath the door or gateway.  The buried loop senses the metal of a passing vehicle and, when the vehicle clears the opening, signals the door or gate to close.  The wire coil loop comes pre-formed to simplify installation and is available in a variety of sizes (4' x 8' is standard).

Magna-Loop is simple to install in a concrete pad or asphalt.  The detector system is small, durable, and is easily housed near the door or gate.  If you are planning new construction or the renovation of existing parking facilities, installing Magna-Loop is a low-cost way to eliminate a double hazard to your tenants, customers and bottom line.
