Motorized doors and gates provide an invaluable convenience, especially for multiple vehicle parking facilities.  The use of motorized doors and gates, however, poses a very real safety hazard as a closing door or gate has the potential to cause damage to a vehicle, or worse, injury to a person.

Federal regulations and most states mandate the installation of safety systems on motorize overhead garage doors and motorized parking gates.
