Rooftop exit doors, upper stairwell landings, corridors, supply rooms and storage sheds are just a few of the vital “soft spot” security areas that can be effectively and cost-efficiently protected with ACI’s SpaceGuard™ Alarm System.
Rooftop exit doors and stairwell access applications are present in virtually every multi-story building. Since fire and emergency exit safety codes prohibit the locking of roof exit doors, these areas are a target for security and safety violations. Furthermore, in many residential buildings, rooftop door landing and upper stairwells often attract loiterers.
SpaceGuard™ is a totally self-contained local alarm that will provide a loud siren-alert at the protected location which can be heard by security personnel and which can also serve as a deterrent to the continued presence of an intruder. The compact, easy-to-install SpaceGuard™ does not require the expense of specialized wiring or data networking, making it an ideal option for remote, separated and isolated locations.
Each SpaceGuard™ system includes the following items in a ready-to-mount rugged ABS plastic enclosure:
- Closed and open circuit solid state alarm board incorporating siren driver, siren cut-off timer, timer for arming/shunting of alarm and battery charging network
- 110dB Siren
- Wide angle passive infrared sensor
- Remote control shunting/re-arming receiver with transmitter
- 16.5 VAC/20VA step down transformer
- 4 Amp/Hour back-up battery
Installation of SpaceGuard™ involves only attaching the wall mounting plate to any flat surface, typically at the highest point towards the detection area, sliding on the SpaceGuard™ alarm unit, wiring in the transformer and activating the unit. The PIR provides a simple visual walk-test LED and the battery provides back-up power should primary power be lost. Once installed, the unit will work continuously requiring no ongoing maintenance and your sensitive area is protected.
SpaceGuard to Central Station
The SpaceGuard™ alarm system can also easily be incorporated into any existing central alarm system or can be equipped with optional wireless transmission equipment to send the alarm signal to security personnel up to 5 miles away.
For monitoring of up to six alarms, the AMU-6 provides a simple and low cost fixed central station solution.
Up to 200 alarms can be handled using the economical and convenient desktop central station receiver, DTRCI which offers the option of both local zone display and interface with central station PC software.
For more than 200 alarm points the EXR3300 receiver and RCI3300 Radio Communication Interface in conjunction with Central Station Automation software and a PC provides the most comprehensive system available on the market today.
